What's the most efficient way of using night storage heaters (see details below for ... err ... details)? - hallway storage

My floor is well insulated and the heat in the small hall to the entire house on its own heat when the correct combination can open the doors. However, there are also a lot more storage of heat in the living room.
Obviously, there are many variables involved, but equality is more efficient, the house with a small radiator to the heater heat seemed larger (say) half way, or both heating equipment at a level so low? Please give reasons and references, if possible in their answers.
